About Intergenerational Program Engagement Department (IPE): DOROT’s Intergenerational Program Engagement Department oversees the agency’s multi-faceted intergenerational program model for families and youth in grades K-12, engaging over 2,500 youth volunteers each year in meaningful connections with older adults. DOROT’s program model reflects the core value that all ages should connect and learn from one another and project a sense of compassion and responsibility toward each other. Our programs bridge the generational divide and promote greater understanding and respect between generations.

Position Summary: The Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining exemplary programs. The ideal candidate is a skilled youth professional/educator who is well versed in the modalities for experiential education and is looking to make a difference in people’s lives. The person will spend a significant amount of hands-on time coordinating and facilitating programs for older adults and youth and will have the opportunity to see their impact regularly. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in being a generative thinker and committed collaborator; can inspire curiosity and growth among participants; and possesses a passion for program design that explores values, intergenerational wisdom and communal responsibility.

Primary Responsibilities:

Be an integral member of the IPE team, contributing to program design and implementation and integrating our core value into all intergenerational activities.
Plan, recruit, facilitate and coordinate the schoolyear and summer teen internship programs for high school students.
Implement and secure partnerships for the Book Buds program in local schools, which brings youth and older adults together for shared reading experiences and discussions about friendship and respecting each other’s differences.
Train and supervise college interns who help to support and facilitate the teen internship programs and other intergenerational program activities.
Support recruitment, onboarding and training of older adult volunteers for intergenerational programs.
Spearhead Next Generation, DOROT’s teen leadership council of experienced and exceptional teen interns.
Oversee and execute internal processes that ensure the timely and targeted collection of metrics and narratives aligned with program goals and grant deliverables.
Partner with other departments to meet agency-wide objectives and foster collaboration.
Communicate with Development and Marketing teams on how best to reflect program outcomes to funders, media and other important stakeholders.
Coordinate with Marketing team to create materials and strategies for traditional and digital promotions.
Work with Volunteer Services to refine and develop new strategies for older adult volunteer recruitment, orientation and training.
Administer and monitor program portfolio expenses against the approved budget.
Collect, track, and maintain participation data and related client interactions using DOROT’s online database (Salesforce based); this involves routine data entry and monthly review of statistics for both grant reports and analysis of trends.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
3-5 years of professional experience working with teens (e.g. education, youth work, social services, nonprofit management)
Demonstrated success in group facilitation and mentoring skills
Demonstrated success with program development, project management and volunteer management
Experience in writing instructional content and/or lesson plans
Self-starter able to effectively manage multiple, time-sensitive projects and deliverables
Excellent verbal and written communication
Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal competencies
Interest in working with older adults
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Experience with Salesforce or other database platforms a plus.
Availability to work 10-15 Sunday and/or evening events per year
